Who was Betal and why did King Vikramaditya go to capture him?
A tantrik performs the ritual of sacrificing a healthy Brahmin son with thirty-two symptoms. That’s why he follows a Brahmin’s son to kill him. But that son runs away to the forest and there a ghost gives him demonic powers and asks him to hang upside down on a tree in the form of a ghost. So that the tantrik could not kill him. The same Brahmin son is “Betal”.
Then the hypocrite Tantrik pretends to be a mendicant yogi. And by laying a trap and giving the temptation of the gem, the king asks for help from Vikram. Then oblivious of the reality, the king starts carrying Betal on his back after taking him under his might.
On the way Betal tells the story to the king, and at the end asks a question, Vikram answers it and Betal again flies away and hangs upside down on his tree. Since he has this condition, that if the king speaks, he will fly and go to the tree.
